One of the biggest challenges I have as a freelance designer is finding the time to design for myself. I had this problem all the time while I was in theater designing costumes. I had grand ideas for clothing I wanted to sew and wear, but I was always far too busy making the next Bye Bye Birdie Poodle skirt, or the next Medieval Pippin corset.
Same goes for web design. My own design site — this site — languished for years and I ended up ignoring it completely when asked for my online portfolio. I was a WordPress nomad, pointing potential clients everywhere but home.
This summer I decided I was long overdue for a change. I sandwiched in bits of time around clients and worked diligently on getting this puppy done. Now, finally, I have a shiny new home.
Here you’ll find links to my WordPress and graphics projects, articles on process, and spotlights on clients. Oh, and a Services page where you can read what I can do for you.
But wait, there’s more!
This is one of several shiny new homes. The other ones just aren’t quite done yet. Within the next month, I’ll be relaunching my personal writing site and my crafting site — which will include craft projects & crafts for sale. I’m excited about this and about exploring new ways of bringing all my work together — the web design, the crafts, the writing, the photography… and so much more.
Connectivity makes me giddy. How about you?
